The Nova Scotia Government has announced a review of the pension benefits legislation in Nova Scotia.
The Pension Review Panel was appointed in February 2008 and includes Bill Black, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Life as Chair of the Committee, Ron Pink, an experienced labour lawyer, and Dick Crawford, from Mahone Bay, former president of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
The Panel will consult with employers, employees and other stakeholders to find out what needs to be done to further protect pension plans in Nova Scotia.
The purpose of this Discussion Paper is to outline some of the most significant issues that affect pension plans and to invite feedback from the people who may be affected by the changes.
Together with the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour CUPE Nova Scotia did a face to face presenation before the panel. Please read our presenation on the link below. We have included a link to the Federation document as well.
