Red Dress Day 2024

May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People, also known as Red Dress Day. CUPE Nova Scotia mourns these tragic losses, and offers our support and love to the grieving communities and families of those lost. Indigenous women disproportionately experience life-threatening, gender-based violence because of hatred and racism. We encourage everyone to advocate for systemic change, and to stand together in solidarity and support for justice, healing, and reconciliation. International Workers’ Day 2024

On May 1st, CUPE Nova Scotia observes International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day. This day is meant to celebrate the hard fought victories of the labour movement’s past, the benefits of which are still enjoyed by millions of workers today. May Day also reminds us of the work that has yet to be done, and strengthens our resolve in pursuit of improved labour rights, equity, and economic justice. ✊ https://cupe.ca/event/may-day-international-workers-day #MayDay #Solidarity
