The time for wage parity for LPNs is now

Dear Member,

The unions representing licensed practical nurses in Nova Scotia continue to push for a resolve regarding wage parity, with specific actions planned for the coming weeks.

The following measures will reinvigorate the Same Care, Same Pay campaign, focusing media and public attention on a matter that has gone on for far too long.

We are sending a letter to Premier McNeil demanding he right this wrong, and ultimately acknowledge the workers he called healthcare heroes at the height of the pandemic.

We will share the letter with media to gain further public support and understanding of the issue.

As discussed, we are planning a protest at Province House once the legislature reopens. We will work together to ensure we follow public health guidelines for safe gatherings, contingent on COVID-19 developments.

Details about the rally and the letter to the Premier will be shared with you as that information is available.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. We know that all LPNs are deserving of the same recognition. We will continue to engage with government in hopes that they will address our concerns as soon as possible.

In solidarity,
