During African Heritage Month we take the opportunity to celebrate our Black members and their vital contributions to our province.

As CUPE members, they continue this legacy by ensuring we all have safe drinking water and that our roads are safe to drive on. Our Black members also keep your children safe and make certain they get the best possible start in life. They care for our elderly loved ones and our family members experiencing health issues.

So many essential services are delivered by Black CUPE members that it is impossible to name them all. They arrive at work every day, committed to providing the important public services that make life better for everyone in Nova Scotia. The pandemic has reminded us of the value of their work.

CUPE thanks all of our Black members for their commitment to the people of Nova Scotia and the important work they do in our communities every day.
