Every year on March 21st, CUPE Nova Scotia joins the global community in observing the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Although it is helpful to mark this specific occasion by acknowledging that racism and hate are all too common in today’s society, it is also important to recognize that many fellow Nova Scotians and CUPE members experience the pain of discrimination daily. Therefore, we call on our members and communities to confront racism and stand together in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous and racialized colleagues and neighbours not just today, but every day.
