Dear Locals:
The Long-Term Care & Community Services Coordinating Committee asks that all Locals participate in a Day of Action on April 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to raise awareness for Long-Term Care and Community Services’ continuing fight for a fair deal.
Planning for this Day of Action will be left up to the Locals as they know best how to utilize their people. Some plans may include joining together with other Locals nearby for an event, rallying at a local MLA Office, or wearing pink at their workplace. Any plan, big or small, can help us show the Employer our resolve and gain public attention.
For the sake of coordination and directing media attention, we ask that a point person keep Chairperson Louise Riley (ltcns@icloud.com) and Atlantic Communications Officer Taylor Johnston (tjohnston@cupe.ca) in the loop about plans as they develop.
In the event that LTC reaches a deal on March 31st during our next day of Conciliation, we plan to go ahead with this Day of Action to raise awareness for DCS, who will still be in Bargaining. As one Committee, it is important that we show support for both Bargaining Units and help them reach their own deal.
In solidarity,
LOUISE RILEY
