CUPE Nova Scotia would like to extend our warmest wishes for a Happy Canada Day to our members, their families, and communities. Today reminds us that as Canadians we have much to be proud of and thankful for. It is also important to acknowledge that our country’s history includes the tragedies that occurred at residential schools and the shameful legacy of colonialism, the pain from which continues to be felt by Canada’s Indigenous peoples today. We encourage you to reflect on this and take action to ensure that we prioritize reconciliation and thereby pursue a better Canada for all.
