Being a CUPE Nova Scotia committee member is a great way to learn more about our union, principles and goals. Your participation on a committee offers new perspectives and helps us grow as a union. As a committee member, you become both a leader with CUPE NS and within your own local. Plus, it’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends!
Now is the time to consider joining a committee! We currently have the following vacancies on CUPE NS committees and council:
CAMIC (CUPE Atlantic Maritime Indigenous Council)
- one member vacancy
Human Rights
- one member vacancy
Health & Safety
- one young worker member vacancy
Contracting Out & Privatization
- two member vacancies (one for a young worker)
*Young workers are those members who are 30 years of age or younger
**Young workers can apply for any seat on a committee (not just the young worker seat)

- Your local has to be affiliated to CUPE NS to participate on a committee.
- Committees are funded by CUPE NS.
- The deadline to apply is July 8, 2024. The CUPE NS Executive Board will make appointments at their July meeting and notify the successful applicants shortly after.
