Happy Nurses Week!

This week, we celebrate the incredible dedication, compassion, and skill of nurses across Nova Scotia. Whether in hospitals, long-term care homes, community clinics or through home care, nurses are the heart of our healthcare system. CUPE Nova Scotia proudly stands with nurses—advocating for fair working conditions, safe staffing levels, and the respect they deserve. To every nurse who goes above and beyond to care for others: Thank you for your unwavering commitment to keeping our communities healthy!

2026 National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People

May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People, also known as Red Dress Day. CUPE Nova Scotia mourns these tragic losses, and offers our support and love to the grieving communities and families of those lost. Indigenous women disproportionately experience life-threatening, gender-based violence because of hatred and racism. We encourage everyone to advocate for systemic change, and to stand together in solidarity and support for justice, healing, and reconciliation. #MMIWG2S #NoMoreStolenSisters
