Tell Premier Rankin to bargain a fair deal for health care workers!

Nova Scotia’s 7,500 health care workers have spent the past 16 months providing outstanding service to help protect and care for their fellow citizens through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite this, the Rankin government won’t offer a fair collective agreement to the same workers they have hailed as “heroes.”

They actually offered health care workers less than the wage settlements provided recently to other public sector workers, such as Crown Attorneys, Paramedics with the IUOE, and teachers.

Wages for Nova Scotia’s health care workers have actually fallen below where they should be in comparison to other provinces. Seven years of austerity by this government has left many health care workers in Nova Scotia among the lowest paid health care professionals in Canada. This will only make health care shortages worse in our province.

Tell Premier Rankin and other political leaders that it’s time to offer our health care heroes a fair deal.
