2026 National Day of Mourning

Today, CUPE Nova Scotia solemnly observes the National Day of Mourning — a day to remember and honour workers who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, or experienced illness due to workplace hazards. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the ongoing need to protect every worker. It is a time to reflect, to grieve, and to recommit to action. CUPE Nova Scotia stands in solidarity with all workers and their families, calling for stronger safety standards, improved protections, and safer working conditions for all.
