Car rally in support of long term care workers at Wynn Park Villa to take place in Truro on Friday, March 5

TRURO – Join friends and allies of staff at Wynn Park Villa nursing home in Truro for a car rally in support of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Tevin Crawford, who was recently fired from his job. Wynn Park Villa is a privately-owned nursing home where staff are frustrated by workplace health and safety issues, scheduling, sick leave, vacation time and staff shortages. Some workers are now being intimidated or punished for speaking out about these issues. Under both federal and provincial law, the right of an employee to join a union is guaranteed. It follows that employers are not permitted to engage in anti-union animus, which includes intimidating or retaliating against workers for joining or wanting to join a union.
