2024 William Davis Miners’ Memorial Day

On June 11th, CUPE Nova Scotia observes WIlliam Davis Miners’ Memorial Day in recognition of the many lives lost in our province’s coal mines. The date is named for a miner who was killed while courageously protesting against the anti-worker actions of the British Empire Steel Corporation during a 1925 strike near New Waterford. We encourage members to attend Davis Day ceremonies being held throughout Nova Scotia today, and to reflect on the significance of the sacrifices made.

Happy Pride Month from CUPE Nova Scotia!

June is Pride Month, and CUPE Nova Scotia is proud to wish our comrades, sisters and brothers in the 2SLGBTQI+ community a fabulous month of celebrating you for who you are. We also encourage all members to commit to fighting for workplaces that include safety and inclusivity for everyone. HAPPY PRIDE!! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ #2slgbptqiaplus #pride2024
